I switched to using the guides with the Strayton Upton Practical math book that goes along them this year and I couldn’t be more pleased.
My granddaughter was able to do the steps of her math but it was clear she didn’t know why or really how she was getting the answers. She also did NOT like math. We are a couple months in now and math is her favorite time of the day ( mine as well) and she fully understands what she is doing now. The way the guides are written anyone can teach math. There are active links throughout with help and “ captain ideas” interspersed.
Using these guides has opened up this mountainous landscape of math for all its beauty and truth to be fully seen. I am more than pleased.
